BABYMETAL have posted a cryptic announcement about the band’s future on their Facebook account. In the post, the group claim they will “disappear from our sight,” potentially hinting at a next phase for the group.
The message reads, “REVELATION FROM THE FOX GOD Sunday, October 10th, 2021… Together with all 10 episodes of METAL RESISTANCE coming to a close, the 10-year legend will be sealed from the world. Until that seal is broken, BABYMETAL will disappear from our sight. Time is running out. There is no eternity in God’s descent.”

The announcement comes after the celebration of BABYMETAL’s 10-year anniversary. The group released a comic book and a greatest hits album. They also performed a variety of anniversary shows at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan arena to commemorate their time together as a band.
The last BABYMETAL studio album, METAL GALAXY, came out in 2019. The release made history as the band became the first Asian artists to climb to No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart. Before that, their previous album, METAL RESISTANCE, topped out at No. 6.

The band have also produced multiple music videos for the album, including a visual for “BxMxC” in October 2020 and another for “DA DA DANCE” in December 2019, as well as ones for “Elevator Girl,” “PA PA YA!!” and “Distortion.”
In addition to working on their own projects, BABYMETAL also collaborated with Bring Me The Horizon for “Kingslayer” in November 2020. The collaboration was long-anticipated, according to an interview Oli Sykes did with NME in October 2020.
“We wanted to do something with them for ages,” he says. “We’ve got a really special connection with them, even though we don’t speak the same language. We don’t hang out or have conversations, but when you see them, it makes you really happy.”

“Working with them was awesome,” he continues. “They’re so organized and so professional. I asked them, ‘I really want you guys to sing the verse in Japanese.’ So I told them the idea behind the song and the concept, and they came back with a table of option A,B,C and D of lyrics.”
